➤ Snowy owl is a large,white owl of the typical owl family Snowy owls are native to Artic regions in North America and Eurasia.
➤Males are whitein color, while females are flecks of black plumage.
➤Most owls sleeps during the day time and hunt at night.but Snowy owl is active during day time especially during summer time

When Landing Place Snowy owls often face the sun which has been suggested to display represents a visual display across long distance in open habitats depending on the prevailing wheather condition Snowy owl appears to orient themselves into the sun or wind.
Breeding
➤ A site with Good visibility is chosen such as top of mound with ready access to hunting areas and lack of snow.
➤For Breeding Gravel bars and abandoned eagle nest may be used.
➤Female Scrapes small hallow before laying the eggs breeding occurs in May-June.
➤Clutch Size ranges from 3 to 11 eggs which are laid singly every other day over the course of several days.
➤Hatching take place Approximately five weeks after laying,and the pure white young are cared for by both parents.
➤Males may met with two female that may nest about a kilometer apart.
Hunting
Most of the owl hunting is done in the "sit and wait style" prey may be captured on the ground or in the air or duck may be snached off the surface of bodies of the water using their sharp talons.Each bird must captured 7-12 mice per day to meet its food requirement and can eat more than 1600 lemmings per year.Most owl hunt at night but Snowy owls are diurnal and hunt during the day and night.It feed on a wide veriety of small mammals such as meadow voles and deer mice.But willtake advantage of larger prey some of the larger mammals prey includes hares muskrats etc.
Hybrids
Snowy owls are not known to interbreed with other owl Species in the wild.
However a hobby falconer in kollnberg,Germany managed to successfully breed hybrids from the male snowy owl and a female Eurasian-eagle owl in 2013

The two resulting male hybrid owls possesed the prominent ear tufts(Generaly absent in snowy owls) general size orange eyes and the same pattern of black markings on their plumage from their Eurasian eagle owl mother while retaing the generaly black-and -white plumage colors from their Snowy owl father .
